The 21st Century Learning Alliance was founded in 2006, by key national organisations involved in education, to ensure that learning communities of all kinds have the best chance possible to prepare young people for the various challenges they will face in the future.
Areas of consideration
The 21st Century Learning Alliance is now looking to identify and celebrate the achievements of schools that are excelling in how they approach key areas of their work or environment. The four areas to be considered for the award are:
2009 Award Winners
The 21st Century Learning Alliance is delighted to congratulate five schools who were winners of this year's Leading Innovation award.
The awards were made by Sir Mike Tomlinson at Seizing Success 2009, NCSL's Annual Leadership Conference.
The schools were singled out for leading the way in four main aspects of 21st century learning - teaching and learning methods; people; resources and curriculum; time and space.
The two Outstanding Winners were named as Belgrave Primary School in Stoke on Trent and Grampian Primary School in Derby.
Kingsley Special School, Kettering, and Penn Hall School, Wolverhampton, received Highly Commended certificates. Newman Special School in Rotherham picked up a certificate for being shortlisted.
